Module 1: Foundations - What Emotional Intelligence Is (and Why It Matters)
Every great leader has one thing in common: they understand people. Not just processes, targets, or strategy, but the human beings behind the work. That understanding starts with emotional intelligence. In this first module, we lay the foundation. You will explore what emotional intelligence actually is, break it down into its core components, and understand why researchers and organisations consistently identify it as the most critical capability a leader can develop. You will also take stock of where you are right now because knowing your starting point is the first step toward meaningful growth.
Outcomes:
Understand the components of emotional intelligence
Why it's the most critical leadership capability, and
How to assess your starting point.
In lecture 1, we look at what emotional intelligence is and who some of the key figures are in its development.
Emotional intelligence is one of the most important attributes a leader or manager can have. Lecture 2 examines the importance of emotional intelligence in the workplace.
Lecture 3 explains the emotional competence framework.
Module 2: Managing our own emotions can lead to better workplace outcomes
