AI in Leadership Development

Updated: 4 days ago

Jamie Lord from JammTrain discusses the role of AI in leadership development and why human judgement still matters. He explores how AI can help organisations deliver more meaningful, customised learning, support Business Impact Action Plans, and help candidates research, draft and locate workplace evidence more efficiently. At the same time, both emphasise that AI should be used as a tool to accelerate thinking and application, not as a substitute for genuine capability, authenticity or experience.

A key focus of the discussion is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and the importance of real workplace evidence. Jamie explains that AI can assist with research, drafting, revision and organising evidence, but recognition still depends on the underlying skills, knowledge and performance of the candidate. Jamie also highlights that leadership development only creates real value when learning is put into action and linked to business outcomes, not just polished content or good intentions.

The conversation also looks at psychometric tools, privacy considerations and the growing need for a “human in the loop” when using AI in learning and assessment. The overall message is clear: AI can improve speed, structure and personalisation, but leadership development, workplace performance and nationally recognised outcomes still rely on context, accountability and informed human judgement.
